And this series is in MOSTLY chronological order because I kind of forgot about Samurai-Fighter Shingen when it came out in 1988…but let’s just say there’s a pretty good reason why! It’s a perfectly average beat ’em up where the most interesting thing about it is probably that it references actual Japanese historical figures!
The game that’s paired with it in this episode is MUCH more interesting though: Konami’s Crime Fighters! It’s Konami’s genre debut, and though this game isn’t as flashy as some of the brawlers that they’d make even later this year, it undoubtedly set the stage for every single one of them. Not to mention that it has plenty of comedic elements, both intended and otherwise!
